London

Starting a blog... where can I start? Seeing as I am writing anonymously it would be seemingly pointless to tell you all about me. Instead I'll tell you about my favourite place. London. The city of dreams.

Whilst I have not been to London for nearly two years it's hard to forget why I will always want to go back. Whether you are taking a walk in the outskirts of town, where houses are beautifully laced with rose bushes and trimmed hedges or pushing your way through the crowds of the inner city trying to make your way on to the train pulling in to Piccadilly Circus, everything always seems perfect. Everything from the architecture to the food and stunning fashion would make it hard for anyone to resist.

Whilst many use the excuse of dreary weather to avoid the gorgeous city I for one love it. The common misconception that it rains all day every day doesn't have me fooled. A winter time filled with the possibility of snow and summers that when in comparison to the scorching temperatures of other exotic countries seem absolutely amazing seem well worth the trade for a share in rainy days.

The photos below don't seem to look that rainy do they?

Photos from London Fashion Week

Fashion is probably another one of my favourite things to investigate and look at. London has so many shopping destinations. The iconic Oxford street, Covent Garden, Mayfair... there are to many to name. They have something for everyone in any price range. The photos above were taken during London fashion week and whilst a picture serves a thousand words these pictures scream two: stunning and effortless. The variety of shops provide everyone with what they need to create there own individual style and sense of being and it doesn't have to be hard. If some of the high end fashion outlets aren't in your price range a visit to the colossal London Westfield would perhaps well fitted, otherwise there are plenty of vintage second hand shops that can provide you with exactly what you need for a fraction of the price.
Oxford Street at dusk, plenty of clothes still waiting to be bought.
And whilst it would be anyones dream to be able to fit into every item of clothing handed to them and look like they just stepped off a runway does not seem possible to me when you are surrounded by the smells and flavours of a great deal of expensive delicacies to hot street food that follow you at every street bend. Whilst I do love a sit down meal to fine dining my favourite easy food to pick up would be hot chestnuts that serve as winter hand warmers when the sun starts to go down.

My final part to add to my multiplying list of why London is by far my favourite destination is the variety of attractions to visit. I think that most people would agree that there first stop in London would be to the historic Buckingham palace, though I am sure most people just visit in the hope of catching a glimpse of radiant princess Kate and charming Prince William and of course there bouncing baby boy its design and form is a marvel to look at. Other places to visit obviously include the London eye, the Big Ben and the quite recent addition of the Shard. Each structure is definitely 10 times more magnificent in real life.

I hope for everyones sake that at some point in there life they can visit the city. The City of Love and the City that never sleeps are wonderful and definitely sport some of there own unique and interesting features however I'm going to leave first prize with the City of dreams. London.
